Cushman & Wakefield today announced that Chris Barnet has joined the firm as Executive Director within its Healthcare Advisory group. He joins the firm from Colliers International, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President and Director of Healthcare Services.
Ran Holman, Managing Principal and Dallas Market Leader for Cushman & Wakefield, said Barnet’s expertise in healthcare represents an opportunity for the company to expand its services in the Dallas area.
“Our intent is to pursue excellence in everything we do,” he said. “Chris Barnet’s unique experience in this industry, and his educational background, gives us immediate depth and reach. I have known Chris and worked with him for many years. He is a great addition to the Cushman & Wakefield family.”
Barnet has established himself as a leading healthcare broker in the dynamic Dallas market, successfully representing large medical organizations such as United Surgical Partners, Kindred Healthcare/Rehabcare Hospital Holdings, the American Institute of Gastric Banding, Diabetes America and Midland Memorial Hospital. He is regularly named a Dallas “Power Broker” by D CEO, an honor he most recently received in 2018.
In his new role, Barnet will oversee leasing, tenant advisory, investment sales and development for healthcare.
“My time at Colliers International was enjoyable and rewarding,” Barnet said. “However, when Cushman & Wakefield offered me the chance to join a team of professionals with deep experience in the healthcare industry—thereby providing me the resources to service my clients at the highest level—I jumped at the opportunity.”
Barnet attended Tulane University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in economics and political science. He then went on to earn a J.D. degree and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
Barnet worked as Managing Director at GVA Cawley for 12 years before spending seven years at Case Commercial Real Estate Healthcare Advisory Group, which was acquired by Colliers in 2015.
He begins his new role at Cushman & Wakefield today.
