Cushman & Wakefield Represents London-Based Frank Recruitment Group in U.S. Expansion

Fast-growing technology recruiting firm plans to hire up to 300 at its new Ross Tower office in downtown Dallas.

DALLAS, May 22, 2017 – After scouring major markets across the country, Frank Recruitment Group has selected Dallas for its next U.S. office. The UK-based company has leased space downtown in Ross Tower, where it plans to employ 150 people initially and more than 300 in just a few years. Paden Simmons, Vice President, and Paul Briggs, Executive Vice President, will oversee North Texas operations. “Our goal is for this office to not only be our largest, but our most productive,” Simmons said.

Robbie Baty, Senior Director, and Travis Boothe, Director, in Cushman & Wakefield’s Dallas office, represented Frank Recruitment Group in its search and lease. They were joined by Seth Hecht, Senior Director in Cushman & Wakefield’s New York office. “Frank Recruitment Group was looking to establish a foothold in the South and, after considering multiple cities, Dallas was the clear winner,” Baty said. “The company has a fun work environment, and its leaders were immediately attracted to the energy and walkability in downtown Dallas.”

The fast-growing tech recruiting and staffing firm focuses on the enterprise software market. It will initially occupy 12,000 square feet on the 24th floor of Ross Tower. The 45-story skyscraper was acquired in late 2015 by a partnership between HPI Real Estate of Austin, Bandera Ventures of Dallas, and Second City Real Estate of Vancouver, British Columbia. Hunter Lee is the in-house leasing representative for HPI. “We’re thrilled to have such a dynamic and millennial-focused firm as Frank Recruitment Group join us at Ross Tower, and are very proud that they’ve chosen downtown Dallas to be home to their first location in Texas,” Lee said.

The ownership is nearing completion on a multimillion-dollar redevelopment of the building. Improvements include a canopied drive court and plaza, wifi lounge, corporate living room, and new board room. Additionally, a full-service Starbucks coffee shop is now open, with an outdoor entrance and street-level patio coming before the end of the month.

Founded in Newcastle, England, in 2007, Frank Recruitment Group has a unique service model that divides its business into units, or “brands,” that are each dedicated to a single product, such as Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Data Analytics, NetSuite, and Cloud Technology. The Dallas office will primarily focus on its signature brand, Nigel Frank International, a recognized global leader in Microsoft technology recruitment.

Last spring, Frank Recruitment Group was acquired by TPG Growth, the middle market and growth equity investment platform of Fort Worth-based TPG. The recruiting firm has grown rapidly since its launch; the influx of capital from TPG has boosted it even more.

“In the past six months, we’ve opened new offices in Berlin, Philadelphia, and now our newest location in Dallas,” Simmons said. “We have big aspirations here in Dallas; our ultimate goal is to become the world’s largest global niche technology staffing firm.”

Dallas will play a key part in the company’s future. The market was selected for a number of reasons, including proximity to a diverse base of current and prospective clients—and to educated employees. “Dallas has a large group of talented, hard-working, and highly motivated people,” Simmons said. “Additionally, a lot of college graduates and young professionals starting their careers are moving here. Everywhere you look, companies are growing or considering a relocation to the area. FRG is excited to become an employer of choice in Dallas and add value to an expanding, vibrant local community.”

Kourtny Garrett, president and CEO of Downtown Dallas Inc., said Frank Recruitment is another boost for the city’s urban core. “There’s an enormous amount of conversation about the momentum behind the innovation and technology industries in Dallas, particularly downtown,” she said. “The move of Frank Recruitment Group is indicative of that momentum, and world-wide recognition that downtown Dallas is a great place to do business, as well as a leading-edge hub of thought leadership, creativity, and talent recruitment.”
