Former JLL execs will lead expansion of the firm’s Industrial Agency Leasing in Dallas-Fort Worth.
DALLAS, April 13, 2017 – Commercial real estate standouts Kurt Griffin and Nathan Orbin have joined Cushman & Wakefield as Executive Managing Directors. They will focus on growing the firm’s Industrial Agency Leasing business across North Texas.
“We are building on the strong Cushman & Wakefield platform by adding folks of solid character and proven ability, and Kurt and Nathan embody this,” said Ran Holman, Managing Principal and Dallas-Fort Worth Market Leader. “It is our desire to serve our industrial clients throughout the ownership cycle. The value that Kurt and Nathan bring is integral to that.”
It’s a return home for Griffin, who was with Cushman & Wakefield for 11 years before joining JLL in 2013. Throughout his 26-year career he has completed more than 300 transactions totaling 40 million square feet and valued at more than $800 million. Orbin joined JLL in 2009, after beginning his real estate career at Jackson Cooksey in 2003. During his 14 years in the business he has brokered 25 million square feet of deals and sold more than 4,000 acres of industrial land.
Together, Griffin and Orbin have earned the loyalty of top institutional investors from around the country. “We look forward to leveraging the resources of Cushman & Wakefield to provide best-in-class service to our clients,” Griffin said. “We’re confident the platform will allow us to broaden and deepen our relationships with owners, developers, and capital sources.”
“A desire to continue to grow our portfolio is paramount,” Orbin said. “We look forward to leveraging the respected Cushman & Wakefield brand, locally and nationally, and collaborating with the firm’s other service lines and key personnel. Cushman has an impressive tenant rep market share and an outstanding capital markets team, led by Randy Baird and Jud Clements. The future of Cushman & Wakefield is bright, and we are excited to help shape it.”
Both Griffin and Orbin are graduates of The University of Texas at Austin, and both are actively involved with the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) and the North Texas chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), among other industry organizations. Their commercial real estate achievements have been recognized with numerous industry awards.
Cushman & Wakefield leads the nation in industrial brokerage, and building that capability has been a top priority in Dallas-Fort Worth, said Bret Bunnett, Executive Managing Director. “We’ve had to approach it with equal parts commitment and patience to find the right team,” he said. “Kurt and Nathan have a deep history of success in representing institutional clients on significant assets—a track record that’s unmatched in the industry. We’re absolutely confident we found the right leaders to build this practice group.”
