Cushman & Wakefield announced today that leading Office Tenant Representation brokers Tom Sutherland and Ryan Hoopes have joined the firm as Executive Managing Director and Director, respectively. They join the firm from Colliers International, where Sutherland served as Executive Vice President and Hoopes was Senior Associate in the company’s Corporate Solutions group.
Ran Holman, Managing Principal and Dallas Market Leader for Cushman & Wakefield, said the company is fortunate to be adding Sutherland’s and Hoopes’ team.
“They’re a natural fit for the Cushman & Wakefield family, and I know they will start contributing to our success right away,” Holman said. “I’ve known Tom personally and professionally for many years, and I’ve watched him build an incredible career of customer service. He has loyal customers across the country who have worked with him for decades, and at the same time, his foundation of classic sales training allows him to constantly develop new relationships and opportunities to serve.
“Ryan has all the tools, and it is no secret why his career has taken off,” Holman continued. “Among other things, he has developed an expertise in coworking, which is a sector unto itself. Like Tom Sutherland, Ryan possesses great fundamentals in business development and is a fantastic addition to our team.”
Sutherland and Hoopes will be responsible for delivering real estate services to national and local clients. They will also focus on helping their clients navigate the fast-growing flexible workspace market.
Sutherland worked with Colliers for more than three years, following nearly 10 years with CASE Commercial Real Estate Partners, a company he co-founded and owned. Prior to that, he spent eight years with CBRE. Sutherland is one of the top-producing brokers in the country, having completed more than 10 million square feet (sf) of assignments for a variety of national and local clients. While at Colliers, he recently negotiated a 450,000-sf expansion and extension for Dex Media’s Dallas headquarters and a 150,000-sf build-to-suit for Freeman’s corporate headquarters. He has been recognized as a “Top Producer” by D CEO and CoStar, as well as a Dallas Business Journal “Heavy Hitter.”
“I am thrilled to join Cushman & Wakefield for its powerful tenant rep team, both locally and globally,” Sutherland said. “It’s undeniable that there is tremendous momentum and energy here. Plus, this move is an opportunity to reunite with my long-time friend and inspirational leader, Ran Holman.”
Hoopes served as a Senior Associate at Colliers for more than three years, working with a range of office tenants across the country as part of their Corporate Services team. Previously, he had spent nearly a decade in professional sports sales and management with both the Texas Rangers Baseball Club and Dallas Stars Hockey Club, specializing in corporate business development.
“I am beyond excited to be a part of Cushman & Wakefield’s global culture, platform and brand,” Hoopes said. “From its best-in-class technology and resources to its team of experts, the company provides a significant competitive edge in all facets of our highly competitive business.”
