DALLAS, September 12, 2018 – Fast-growing OrderMyGear is expanding its Dallas headquarters. The e-commerce company has signed a lease with the new owners of 2211 Commerce St. for 23,000 square feet—nearly triple the 9,000 square feet it previously occupied in the building. OrderMyGear was represented in its search and lease negotiations by Cushman & Wakefield Senior Director, Cribb Altman, and Director, Charlie Beck.
“The East Quarter District provided a unique opportunity for OrderMyGear to renew and expand in its current space,” Mr. Altman said. “The chance to be an anchor tenant in a new downtown district, while also staying in a building that’s part of the company’s history, were major selling points.”
OrderMyGear simplifies group commerce in the custom apparel and sporting goods industries through its technology platform and services. It began as a software tool developed by Co-Founder and President, Kent McKeaigg, to help his father, a team sports apparel and equipment dealer, collect orders from youth sports teams in Oklahoma. The company currently employs 80 at its Dallas headquarters.
“The expanded space will support the potential doubling of our headcount during the next few years,” said James Skidmore, Co-Founder and COO. “Our team is excited to expand and be a part of the growth in the East Quarter.”
OrderMyGear is the largest tenant to commit to space in Dallas’ new East Quarter, an emerging neighborhood on downtown’s east side. It’s comprised of eight city blocks along Cesar Chavez Boulevard and Jackson and Commerce streets, which were recently acquired by a partnership between Dallas-based Todd Interests and Institutional Investors advised by J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Following a multimillion-dollar redevelopment, East Quarter will offer about 200,000 square feet of creative office and restaurant space.
“OrderMyGear is an established, innovative firm with a company culture that is second to none,” said Patrick Todd, Partner at Todd Interests. “We are thrilled with the owners’ (Kent and James’) decision to make East Quarter their company’s long-term home.”
Patrick Todd was the in-house representative for Todd Interests.
